Infoserve Group plc has appointed Derek Oliver as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Announcing the appointment, Infoserve Chairman Andrew Thirkill commented: “As founder of Infoserve, Derek has been deeply involved with the company’s growth and progress to the position we are in today with turnover around £5m, profitable and with almost 150 employees throughout the group’s multiple facilities.”
He added: “Derek is exactly the right choice to lead Infoserve through its next phase of development with further digital solutions and revenue streams planned. The current climate has been thoroughly challenging and despite this the company has continued to experience success on many fronts.
“Infoserve is in a strong financial position with sustainable profits and new revenue initiatives in the pipeline. I am absolutely confident that under Derek’s leadership and guidance these new initiatives will be successfully brought to fruition.”
Derek Oliver said: “I am delighted to be appointed Chief Executive Officer of Infoserve, the company I founded. Infoserve has developed and grown significantly over recent years and is now one of the leading providers of online marketing solutions for SMEs in the UK. With established sales teams in Leeds and Darlington and a strong and developing portfolio of products, we are in an excellent position to continue to strengthen and enhance our market position.”
Derek founded Infoserve recognising the massive potential of the Internet for delivering quality local content to consumers through the website www.cityvisitor.co.uk. The site has developed into one of the UK’s most used online business finders and is now a leading local resource for consumers and a one-stop online marketing platform for advertisers.
Infoserve Group plc is led by a team with a great deal of commercial experience. The team also includes David Hood, the technology entrepreneur who founded Shipley-based Pace Micro Technology plc.
