Expanding online local business search company, Infoserve, which successfully floated on AIM in June 2006, is relocating its Stockton-on-Tees sales operation to much larger premises at Morton Palms Business Park in Darlington.
The company, which helps small and medium sized companies promote themselves to people searching online for local goods and services, is taking all three floors in Pioneer House.
The switch, planned for the end of the year, will see all 125 employees moving the relatively short distance to the new 16,500 sq ft offices.
Commenting on the move, Debra Thornton, General Telesales Manager, said, “Since we established a presence on Teesside the business has grown enormously and we have quite literally run out of room in our current premises.
“With more jobs planned we needed to find modern offices that could accommodate our ambitious growth plans in a good, easily accessible, location. Pioneer House fits the bill perfectly.”
In addition to providing state of the art office facilities, Infoserve is also considering transforming the top floor into a games room, to include, table tennis, pool tables, table-top football, and television screens.
Debra said: “We want to build a loyal and happy team at Infoserve and so we really want them to enjoy working here. That is why we are providing a range of facilities so the more energetic can let off steam while others can chill out and relax.”
Established in 1999, Infoserve lists almost three million businesses on its own business directory, www.cityvisitor.co.uk, and also across a network of 280 websites, which receive more than 24 million visitors a month. This network includes the websites of a number of major online media partners such as the Daily Telegraphand the Daily Mail as well as Football League official club sites and Sky digital TV.
With more than three quarters of people now looking for goods and services online, Infoserve helps to increase the online visibility of companies to those searching for a local business, via enhanced business listings, improved positioning, website creation and advertising banners.

Chiropractors who wish to expand their client base, now have a new way of attracting patients thanks to revamped website chiropracterslocal.co.uk.
The site, which is powered by local online search specialist Infoserve, is fully searchable by postcode.
The move comes as research shows online local search by consumers is on the increase with 76 per cent of consumers who want to find a local business or service now looking online1, of which 90 per cent will eventually convert into sales2.
Also included on the site is a ‘Find a Chiropractor’ feature which enables potential patients to input their contact details and nature of their complaint. This information is then sent to all chiropractors with a paid–for listing in the locality, producing valuable pre–qualified sales leads.
Infoserve’s operations director, Derek Oliver, explained: “The site provides businesses with a valuable way of marketing themselves online and generating additional sales leads, whatever their size.
“Chiropractorslocal.co.uk also includes valuable background information on the profession including what chiropractics is, what conditions it can treat and what patient’s can expect from a visit. As well as differentiating the site from other directories, it also provides reassurance for patients, bringing further benefits to advertisers.”
Every UK chiropractor will automatically receive a ‘natural listing’ which includes full address and telephone number. Businesses can upgrade to a ‘full listing’ for £249, which includes a full colour logo, email and web links, as well as allowing a business to receive enquiries via the ‘Find a chiropractor’ service.
Another option, ideal for practices who don’t have a website of their own, is to add a one page website known as a spotlight page for £150, which will allow chiropractors to include a description of their practice and any areas of specialisation.
Mr Oliver concluded: “We’re very excited about the unveiling of our new site—even before the improvements we were receiving almost 28,000 hits a month, so we are expecting the new site to be even more popular with a rapid increase in visitor numbers over the coming months.”
