When you lock the door of your company premises at the end of each day, do you consider yourselves closed for business until the following day?
The problem with today’s online society is that you’re never really closed. If you study the online habits of your customers you will probably find that most of your website traffic and social media interests actually happens out of your normal opening hours.
Like yourself, many people are busy during the day and do all their browsing/searching once they have finished work or at the weekends.
Of course a family/work life balance is extremely important so how can you make the most of your online presence without letting work take over?
First of all, many social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook allow you to pre-set posts in advance to go live at a chosen time. You could try setting some posts in advance to keep your business talking to customers during busy evening periods.
Another solution is to have staff allocated to your online marketing during evenings and weekends. Remember, this doesn’t have to be a full-time role, just a way of ‘checking in’ on your website, social media and emails every now and then out of the normal working day. This process need only take a few minutes but just gives you a chance to respond to anything that is going on.
