Black Friday – Friday November 23rd, is just round the corner, but is your business geared up to make the most of the predicted £4.75 billion that UK consumers will spend?
It’s predicted that UK consumers should spend £4.75 billion, with £2.23 billion (47% of the total spend) to be spent online.
These figures are based on a survey of 2,000 consumers, with average spend of those planning to buy at £90.
The 25-34 age range intend to spend the highest (£154 on average) and men will also spend 34% more than women on average. Women, however, are more likely to spend money online (49% vs. 46% for men).
Londoners are expected to spend the most of all UK regions – on average (£141). Norwich will spend the least – £40.50 on average.
Almost a quarter (22%) of consumers are even planning to bring their Christmas shopping forward to Black Friday, with consumers spending 16% of their total Christmas spend on the bargain-filled day.
Make sure you are in front of people when they are browsing for Black Friday offers – make the most of your website, PPC advertising, social media and email marketing to reach and engage with potential customers.
There’s lots of money for grabs; Christmas is one of the biggest buying seasons of the year during which most retailers earn as much as 20% of their annual revenue, so it’s worth putting effort into attracting buyers to you, your products and services.
